What are some of your sets you use for trapping??
Fox -- I like dirtholes, post sets and buried skunk sets.
Coyotes -- I haven't gotten to trap much as very few were in this area or where I came from. things have changed and we have good numbers of them. smile.gif Will set dirt holes, flat sets and post sets.
mink -- Almost always make blind sets in water or on land. If I find a muskrat house dug into after ice up, I will bait the hole and set a trap in front covered by cattail fuzz and bits of cattails with a dusting of snow. Never have used lure as I trap by the amount of sign.
muskrat -- If we have open water (very seldom), I like using floats. After ice up it is legal for us to set inside the huts or pushups and that is usually the bulk of my trapping for them.
Beaver -- channel sets or fenced sets with a 330 coni. Not a lot of beaver here so not much experience trapping them.
Skunks -- Even though they do need to be thinned out, sadly it doesn't matter what set you make, they will find them and stink them up for you. They do make great bait for fox later in the season after snow flies. Well have to see how they are for coyotes.
