there are so many hog weighing experts here that it amazes me.everyone knows that pics do not always do a hog justice ! I own my own scales as well and they weigh correctly unless the feed stores are wrong as well!!! Since so many are so quick to call someone a liar I will no longer share my hog pics with this forum!!! I do not understand how some of the same guys from the deer forum can be easy going guy to A$%^5678S the next! so long! graemlins/patriot3.gif

No no no... Keep posting them whopers Glenn. We're glad to have you on board. All you can do is be you and report what you know to be true. To those that don't appriciate your post... That's what they make this gremlin for. ( graemlins/thefinger1.gif ) So fear not! Post away, as I love seeing dead pigs of all sizes... Now if I and my Hoyt can put one down at my feet, I'll be as happy as a pig in mud. lol

Hmmmmmm, well, the "Blue Gill" I caught last week was about 2 inches bigger.... It weighed about 3lbs on my Wally World certified "Acu-Scale", so my guess is... 2lbs 10oz... Including the after-birth that must be laying around there somewhere. tongue.gif

Thanks for posting that Alan. I will never tire of that pig. graemlins/thumbsup2.gif

Well, I never weighed him, but I can tell you this. Once skinned and cleaned, he filled a gallon zip lock bag half full. Wrapped him in Tin Foil and baked him in the oven. He was rather tender.

We shot some ranch goats a while back and I shot one young one in the head and the bullet went through and hit a little one in the back, he was the size of a large jackrabbit!! He was good good good, sad though because baby goats are cute. He might have weighed 5lbs, just like your he was wrapped up in 2 feet of tin foil. graemlins/rotflmao1.gif

Pigs are hard to guess, I think. I let Levergunner shoot a pig on my place the other day, I would have guessed 150-175lbs and he weighed 230lbs, I was way off. I picked him up and put him in the truck too, guess I am too strong for my own good. graemlins/devilgrin3.gif I guarantee that pig weighed 520lbs, big big pig.

Hell like I said before, "I think". I never said I had calibrated eyes and just guess at everything. No sense in getting upset over spilt milk. No harm meant. You weren't called a liar anyhow, just the scales. Send back what you receive. It won't be the first time I've been cussed and damned. graemlins/devilgrin3.gif I'm sure it won't be the last either. I'm married with children.

Bacon,
Ain't it the truth about guessing pigs.lol I have seen some I knew were 300 and would have bet money on that only went 225. I have also seen some that were 200 I would bet were 140 or so. Shottem, been there, done that. I have some accurate scales at the house also that'll make a man call them a liar and shake his head at too. I'll post a good pig for everyone to guess at soon. I'll try to post it tonight if I have time. It was weighed at the station and at my house and only weighed 2 pounds different on those 2 scales so it had to be close. I was wrong on that one too.lol That's why we weighed him again at my house, that pig cost me a beer.

rickey you seem to be a good guy,no problems here.I've had the same problem ,I've killed several that I knew would breack 300 that didn't.some that weighed alot more than I thought.killed a hairlipped,1 nostriled hog once that I thought would go 325-350 and he weighed 450.I'm a little short guy that most would guess at about 125 and I weigh 176 most of the time.so go figure ?wouldn't want to be a weight guesser for a living.I never guess my cows correctly. I may be a little gun shy about posting weights again, but I will post more pics agian .I've got lots of them.other criiters too.You can ask Randy I eat, sleep and breath hunting something.

guess,
I can see Randy must be a good friend. He is busting your ***** a little talking about your kids out hunting you. To me that would be something to be proud of though. I can't wait till my daughter puts something on the ground. Once she starts dropping animals I'll not shoot one any day she wants to go as long as she's to young to sit by herself. She'll out hunt me everytime we go then!

rickey,
Randy and I have know each other for almost 24 years ,we live about 2 miles from one another.he comes from a good family, well most of 'em anyway! we have ran hounds together and against each other a time or two.he's been trying to cut my hair every since he has known me,It's about half way down my back and running away from my face.we have never deer hunted together too independant I guess, but we share alot of stories and info.My girls can out hunt me for as long as they like,it will never hurt my feelings!!! my head might get to big to ride in the truck with ,but I still take 'em !! my oldest has been hunting since she was 8 has taken a decent 6 {1st deer} and a real nice 10 point when she was 9 ,but hasn't taken a buck since and she will be 14 in 1 week.she says the next has to outscore the last one. graemlins/crazy3.gif

Glen you know Im just busting your chops, Im proud for them young'uns anytime they get game.
Fact is them girls of yours put it ON YA this year!!! Sorry I couldnt talk long last night but I just got in from B-ball practice, and had to help get kids fed, homework, and off to the timber to listen to some hound music and I was losing time quick.
