KY's stray elk ... fair game in VA

I notice in the article that VA says they plan to put elk on the W.VA line. I wonder how they will feel if W.VA. does the same thing? Frankly, I would feel fortunate that the elk think VA is a worthwhile spot to set up "home." Not many other Kentuckyians would consider that! smile.gif

I was at a hunting show here in Richmond, Va last weekend. I was talking to a couple of the head guys at their Game and Inland Fisheries. They both said they didn't see Va going back to trying to restock elk again. They had problems with the fact that the elk being used weren't the natural species and also there was a lot of negative views from a prior attempt to restock elk before it became fashionable to do it. Just from what I have been hearing I'll be surprised if they ever try to restock with the current leadership they have in power.
