I hunted with InAfrica Safaris and I think they run a very good operation. Their website is www.inafricasafaris.com and I think you should check them out.
And although I don't discredit your enjoyable trip I've seen your post on the Realtree website
http://www.realtree.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=517135&an=0&page=0&gonew=1#UNREAD
and I've noticed an increase in the way you push this outfitter. Do us a favor, post the pics, post the stories, don't push the outfitter. Or if you wish to do so, maybe keep it to emails or PM's.

Thats fine I am not trying to cause trouble just trying to show what a great outfit they are i had a awsome time and just wish for everyone that goes over there to have a great time also. im not tellen anyone not to study up on other outtfitters thats what i did for a full year before i booked. and there is a lot of bad outtfiters there just like here I just thought hey i want people to know that this outfit is real not a joke besides any outfit willing to let ya take your kids with ya free. they went that extra step to see that the kids are not left behind. thats all Im sorry if i stepped over. I guess what im trying to say if you went to a outfit and you thought they were great like ya did with your post i want to know because yes they would be one of the first ones i would check out.

Nice trophies. Do you mind telling what this trip cost? How many animals did you shoot? How long were you there?
Thanks,

ATTN Full Draw ! Buddy you say you like horns and adventure???? Why arent we going yet ? Gemsbok , Sable, Impala , Kudu . My friend , start staring at their horns and tell me it doesnt cause an itch? Maybe this man here can help our task of research , and show us how to go in a couple years , I can save it Im certain LOL !!!! Off to Africa by 2008 or bust, thats whats goin on my truck !.

Doesn't look to me like you're pushing your outfitter anymore than James Vee is pushing his.

This trip was 8 days if you include air time and all would be 10 days the cost of the hunt and mounts total is right around $6,000 to $6,500 give or take i took 10 animals but got one free which was a kudu i dont have that pic downloaded yet. but he was 50 inch the hunting was just awsome i cant wait to go back in 06 im taking a sable and eland then. The gemsbuck hunt man was that a hunt it took about 7 hrs see the moutian in the back ground of the pic we climed up that and then back down chasing him finally put a great stalk on him hiding in thorn bush shot was about 250yrd and dropped him he didnt even go 10 ft.
Yes the fury thing is a spring hair they are goofy when it gets dark i would sware you couldnt walk around with out stepping on one.

For a turnkey hunt airfare taxidermy and all ??? If so thats definately cheap , hell the gemsbok and the wildebest are well worth the price of that trip IMO. A 50 inch Kudu .... That would be a big plus and another lifetime quest achieved for me damn them spiraling horns! I got to get one.
couple questions.
Are you using stateside taxidermist or local taxidermist in Africa ?
Does he do bowhunts?
What kind of red tape did you have to go through passports vaccinations ect prior to leaving ?
Whats this outfits concessions like and how are most of the hunts undertaken ?
Im assuming thats your wife with you , hows the accmidations and whats available for non hunters?
Thanks and welcome to the forum.

I used a taxi. over there my mounts are done i should have them the first week of the new year when i get them i will post pics of them. One thing you got to watch about the taxi.'s over there is they will try to charge you U.S. money rate if you kinda bicker with them they will give to you in there money rate which is alot cheaper and was what i was able to do.
Yes they offer both gun or bowhunting one thing about Africa is they are not really in to bowhunting it has not growen over there yet like it has here but when i was there the owner of the ranch and the PH asked many questions to better operate there bowhunting areas plus with the landscape you can put on a good bow stalk.
Didnt really go through any red tape everything was pretty easy as far as passport and all. vaccinations cost me $100 and they will try to get ya to buy or take the shot for diharea (thinkthats right) as far as guns that was the head acke only becasue they changed some laws just before i left but i have all the forms downloaded so if anybody goes i have them then once you land in Joburg expect to take 3 hrs just getting in with your guns so when you plan your air travel make sure you have a good lay over in joburg other wise you will miss your next flight. They work alot slower over there then we do here.
They have a little over 40,000 acers and there lodge and sleeping quarters are all new will post pics of them as well for ya. the hunting is pretty much up to you. you just tell the PH if you can walk forever or if you have prob. after awhile they accomdate to your abilty. like for instince my mountian reed buck would go out driving around looking for them they are hard to hunt once we would spot one we would drive away then try to stalk up on them it was hard. that is the first animal we started to hunt and the last one i got. we did all of my hunts by walk and stalk. The PH for this place is not one to just take your money like alot of the others do he is honest when it comes to wheather or not it is a animal worth taking for instance we met a couple from Alaska they told us that they took some nice trophy animals when he started telling us the size they were all avg. size animals he was keeping all the trophys for show. my PH if they have a down size in animals he will take you to another ranch to make sure you get a large animal. and when he does that he loses money so that there alone tells what kind of person he is.
Yes thats my wife if you choose to take your wife of course she can go with you or they will have one of the ladys take her shopping in one of the larger towns or site seeing what ever she wants plus they own a huge house on the indian ocean where you can speand a day or 2 doind ocean fishing or just walking around town which we did and the wife loved it. I will have my wife post on here what see thought of it so you can get from her point of view too.

What part of SA did you travel to ? I've been to Africa twice and no need for any shots, as I was told you only needs shots if you are traveling to one of the bigger Parks or to some place Mozambique.
You must have caught the short time when they did change the firearms laws, they did it for a bit then found it too much of a headache to tend with and finally suspended it. I think for like a $100 bucks there is an organization over there that will meet you and help you with your firearms and from what I heard it helps to speed up the process. Of course I went over with my bow, they asked me what was in the case and I told them archery equipment and they said OK.. and that was it , no forms etc.
If you want someone that is die hard bow, then Angus Brown or Ken Moody would be top picks, those are the two really known for bow hunts.
There really is something special about being in Africa and hunting over there, of course the same thing can be said about elk and hearing that bugle.

yes your right Dan the shots were not demand but i toook them anyway just to be safe. Well the new law that went in to effect went in July o4 and they werent real quik with it so if they got rid of since then that is great.
Yes you are right you can hire someone in the airport to help you get them
through easier. And yes no Quistions asked when you take a bow next time i go will be all bow hunt.
I couldnt agree with ya more about the bugle of a elk just rasies your hair on the back of your neck.
By the way beautiful Kudu you got there!!!

Thank you cause the only thing i am pushing is that i had a great time and i would want others to have a great time. I look at it this way if you went some where and did not like it i would like to know If you went some where and loved it i would want to know. Im just one of those guys that dont want to see some get taken. cause i have from a outfit in Canada was suppose to get a week of whitetail hunting in the manotiba area put half down $600 got up there the lodge i was suppose to hunt at was locked up with no one around and didnt look like there had been anyone there in years. went to closet town to fig. out what to do owner of the store that i stopped at put me touch with a guy who had a place up there and this guy honord the receipt from the guy i got screwed by. got a awsome 8 point and i would put his site down to but he has passed away i owed that man alot and every chance i got i told someone about his place. so for me i like hearing about places where somone has went. i will still research my self but the ones that people talk about are the first ones i check out. i learned my lesson.

Sounds like you had a great hunt and a quality outfitter - the ideal combination. I have some pictures of trophys at my website www.anthonypmaurosr.com if you'd like to look at them. I used Cruiser Safaris, another reliable outfitter.
A word of warning, if you visit my website you'll find that I am an author of several books about hunting, one of which involves an african safari. I mention this so that this will not appear as "spam" or an an endorsement. If you want to avoid the links describing the books just look on the navigation bar on the left side of the home page for "The Trophy Room" and click on that tab.
Regards to all
