and it is GOOD i soaked it for 24 hours then i baked it at 170 degrees for 6 and a half hours and it turned out great
You are hooked now!
Here is a suggestion, cut it about 1/8", marinate it for 72 hours, stirring it every 24, and keep the oven at 110 to 120 for 12 to 16 hours and you will have some really good jerky.
I used to make it and sell it at my venison processing business and this really worked for us.
Every marinade recipe is different, but basically mine was teriaki and soy (2-1 ratio) with A!, garlic, and black pepper
Occasionally I would make a sweet batch with brown sugar or a hot batch with red pepper.

Ive never made jerky but I hear soy sauce and beer makes a great marinade.
