My father in law showed me a recipe for FBI Ballistic Gelatin today, anyone ever try it or have their own customised version?

I wonder how this stuff would hold up to field tips and broadheads. ???

Doubt very seriously it would stop a broadhead tipped arrow. Arrows and bullet work two extremely different ways. The energy needed for a bullet to kill is measured in hunderd or thousands of pounds. The energy needed for an arrow to kill is measured in tens of pounds. For example. most experts agree that a bullet is no longer morrally right to use on big game after it drops under 1,000 ft/lbs of KE. That does not mean that it will not kill with less energy, that is just a mutally agreed on limit by most experts. On the flip side, I would be willing to bet that most hunting bows probably only produce between 50-70 ft/lbs of KE. An arrow will penetrate a sandbag with ease, a bullet won't. I would make sure I had a solid back stop on that jelly if you shoot it with an arrow.
