Is anyone planning a trip to Africa this year? If you are who are you going to be hunting with, and what are you going to be hunting for?

Ant, have you been on that Zimbabwe hunt before? Is it just for buff or are you goint to throw a leopard in there as well? Either way, it sounds like a blast.

No, haven't been to Zimbabwe before. I've been to South Africa twice. It's only a seven day hunt so I'll probably use the first couple days sizing up the quality of the buff's. The last day I'll be tiger fishing on the Zambezi River. They are supposed to film the tiger fishing for one of the outdoor cable shows. I also hope to take a hyena while there.

Since I booked a 7 day dangerous game hunt they limit the specie of animals that can be taken (i.e. if you want plains game you have to book a 10 day safari).

I am going to RSA in August to do a muzzleloader hunt. I am going to hunt Kudu, Gemsbok, impala, warthog, zebra at a minimum. I also want to try my hand at small predadtor calling and see if coyote setups from here work on jackals, etc.

Tim, you will find that the coyote calls will work quite well. We had no problem calling in jackals, and even one brown hyena. It's pretty exciting. I guess there is no telling what will show up.
