We did this last year and it was a great success and many folks stepped up and really helped out.

This payment isn't due until June but I wanted to give plenty of folks ample oppurtunity to contribute and give us time to be prepared.

I am using a paypal link to accept donations.

If you'd like to make a donation here is the link

http://www.american-hunter.com/donation/huntingforums.htm

As always, these forums will remain free and w/out banner ads as long as everyone is willing to pitch in alittle from time to time.

thx.

Dan,
Maybe put a posting in the deerhunting and bowhunting sections. Honestly I didn't notice it right off.

Buckfever is right, put a sticky in each forum. I'll pony up some after I get back from hunting next week. We'll keep this thing going.

hmmm,

someone sent me a message that raises certain questions and I guess I'll be idiot enough to raise some of them here since I think others may have received the same info.

Are the sites generating income?

I was under the impression they aren't, but ... ???

AA and HF and the Review Forums don't raise any money; I do raise some money by building and hosting a few hunting outfitter sites and I use that money to pay for the first half of the payment owed... I used to be able to cover the payment pretty much by hosting all the outfitter sites, but over the last few years the outfitters have lost land, gone out of bizness or changed over to yahoo hosting or various other reasons.

If you don't feel ok about giving money then please don't, folks that do know me personally know that I'm on the up and up.

Well I am donating and if I didn't feel good about it I wouldn't, of course I probably get as much benefit as anyone from it since it's right up my line,

I can see how some think a card trick is in play though. The forums generate a lot of pageviews and lots of them lead to the site with the ads. I haven't looked and figured it up myself but it is said to be a substantial amount.

I don't know the particulars and don't care enough to research it but I think if the combination of hunting related sites is generating money, yet the talk forums are portrayed as negative cash flow, when indeed the talk forums are the billboard, there's a whole lot of round and round going on that the members aren't aware of.

I can donate a roofing job to a poor church member and write the entire retail price off on taxes. I don't have to count the 150 jobs I get because of it. I don't have to ask the church members for donations to cover the costs either... but I could.

I sent a little, and I am willing to donate a free one year subscription to my website to help out. Maybe we could have a drawing for all those that donated and the winner gets it? I don't know if anyone is interested, but If you are let me know.
