No good here, it's illegal, nothing smaller than a 20ga.

My son killed his first with a 410! It did the job.. Got to get them in close!
Seems pretty light to me, but I read an article one time about a man who hunted geese with a .410.
I can't remember if he used oversized or undersized decoys but he would get them in close and shoot them in the head on the wing. My 10 year old son uses my 20 guage mossberg with 3" mag number 5's in it, the same gun and set up I used when I was 14 and hunting turkey.

tell you the truth guy's, i'm just not sure how i feel about it, i guess as John said, and this ole franklinville N.Y. turkey hunter i know, have proved, it will do the job, i guess my only question would be, why take the chance?? i dont know, to eash his own i guess!!!
UHH JP, I guess I didn't realize you started this thread. Get out your rule book a .410 is illegal in NY as well for turkey hunting. Nothing smaller than a 20 guage or larger than a 10 gauge with shot no larger than size 2.

Well CJ, this ole boy never potested to be a player of the rules, LOL sorta speak, but i bet a dollar he's got that .410 out every spring !!
actually CJ, now that i think about it, there might well be somthing to poor eye sight, the Mans got the thickest coke bottle glass i have ever seen on a person, look at his face, his eyeballs look like fish in a bowl, not really anything to laugh about, but i'l really beat that might have somthing to do with why he wants them in close,
i still think it's a marginal risk at best, especially since i roll em over with an
Ithica Mag 10, 3 1/2" turkey Terminator, think he might say i was over gunned?? LOL
Now THAT'S a mans gun! :bow)

The .410 is not legal for turkey in Indiana either, but it is legal for deer. Go figure?
I guess the difference is they are shooting slugs at deer, and not pellets.
