The forecast for this weekend isn't looking good at all, they're even calling for the possibilty of snow flurries / sleet late Sat.

To boot, I didn't hear a gobble this morning before I left for work :(

They are calling for snow flurries here on Sat or Sunday.

At least your season is open...we don't open until the 27th! :shout)

I got up at 5 a.m. this morning -- pulled up the "Weather Channel" on the computer and it looked like I was good to go until about 9 or 10 a.m.
I really wanted this hunt this morning because I had finally tracked down some nice gobblers and had them patterned. Had hung a burlap blind on a fence near a few trees and was settled in for about a 35 yard shot.
As I was getting out of the car I noticed lightening in the distance. Didn't think to much about it because there was a storm moving north of me by a good amount.
Well, by 7 p.m. the lightening was flashing around me sitting on a nice rise with four trees I was under the highest spot in about 1/4 square mile. Then the heavens opened up and the rain came down HEAVEY. I still stuck it out for another hour until 8 a.m. hoping the birds may be moving. No such luck and I headed for the vehicle when the lighting started flasing heavy again.
I have lightening.

This weekend is probably not going to be the best, but the birds will still be out there living like they do everyday. I admit I hate the wind they are calling for, but I've called in spring birds when it was low 30's out and they gobbled like it was a pretty spring day.

Was hoping to go out this morning, but the weather has turned real nasty. I don't mind the cold rain, but the wind also stops me from turkey hunting.
Heres the outlook for this weekend in my part of Ohio.

Got up this morning also, and waited to see what it was going to do. Just about to get on the 4 wheeler and head up the hill, and it rained hard for a good hour. Its still raining by the way, yet to hear a gobble today. If it stops, I will be on a field somewhere.

The only good thing about this weather is Monday or Tuesday when it starts to clear off those gobblers are gonna go nuts and I'll be in the field -- not sitting at work. God I love this retirement! :)

I took my Nephew out last saturday and sunday here in NY for our Youth hunt, but the weather was the pits!! Rained Saturday and 1" of snow on Sunday morning!!! The weather seemed to shut the birds down!!

This weekend doesn't look to be much better here than last weekend was. Thunderstorms and rain, hopefully it won't be as windy. At least it's not going to be cold.

Mr. Maynard, you were right with this statement. The gobblers were active and vocal on Tuesday. I called up my dad's second for him, so he's done for the year.
