Anyone kill one this morning in the snow we had here in Ohio? Has any member had luck hunting in spring snow?
I'd think it would be tuff but not impossible!
God Bless,,,John Stahl.
A guy I know on another forum got one after a blizzard.
I have never heard a gobble in the snow. Having said this my buddy, Leonard and I went out one Mother's Day in May in NY when we got 6 inches of snow. Leonard killed a nice tom in any unconventional way. We knew where the turkeys roosting and both set up not far away. When the birds flew down Leonard waited a little bit and went over and looked at the tracks in the snow. He saw which they were headed and circled around ahead of them and waited. His patience paid off with a 23 pound bird with a 9" beard.
We never thought we would be tracking birds in the spring in the snow, but we weren't going home empty handed either.

Good strategy CJ. Tracking should work in the snow!

John hunted the last two days in the snow and all we have seen/heard is 7 deer, heard some coyotes this morning, and a huge red-tail hawk. The weather shut them down for our spots at least. I hope it gets better.
