Last Saturday I decided to take my little brother hunting. I knew where the birds were and that a tom and a jake would be coming out and it would be a perfect oppurtunity for us to both get a bird. Well we got there at 5:15 and set up. I brushed us up good so I could keep my brother hidden even if he wasnt still. Well at about 8 30 the birds finally stepped out and I told Matthew to get ready I assumed He was. They were at 20 yds. Well I turned and looked at him and he was layed back asleep. boy I was hot. So I woke him up and told him to get right. At that point they were at 35 yds. then matt says I dont have a shot. So I tried to call them back but all I managed to do was stop them. They were about 45 yds (I thought). I took the shot and rolled him but he got back up and flew away with the rest of them. boy I was mad. If I was by myself coulda had him at 20 yds. After He flew I paced the shot off. 54 strides. that was a heck of a shot to try to make. Afte that I was just mad. Mad at Matt mad that I took the shot just plain mad.

How old is your little brother? Don't be angry. If I got angry everytime myself or someone I was hunting with made a mistake that cost me the chance to harvest game then I'd stay mad on about half my hunts! Laugh it off and use it as a lesson. I've got video of the kid I took out during the youth hunt sound asleep. Then a couple weeks ago I fell aslepp and my buddy filmed me sleeping. It happens, brush it off and go after another one!
