So what gives you the most bang for your buck? Is it cheaper to shoot 2 shots of steel as opposed to one shot of tungsten or bismuth? I know there are several types of non toxic shot out these days. What performs best and what performs best based on price?

You'll see a ton of opinions on this one. The steel has come a long way since it first started. Personally I feel for decent shots steel is just fine. However, if you are inclined to take less than perfect shots steel tends to be less effective. However, in my opinion that probably has to do with us shooters more than the shot. If you hunt much the other brands are just not feasible. I usually shoot a case of duck loads each season and half a case of goose loads. There is no way I can afford to shoot anything but steel.

I started hunting in 97, so I have absolutly no experience with anything but steel and Tungsten Iron. I do decent with the steel, usually 3" #2s for ducks and 3 1/2" Ts or BBB's for geese.

I recieved a box of Tungsten Iron on geese and MAN did that work!! I think they were either BBs or 2s, but if I could afford them (at $2 a shot) I would shoot them all the time. I have not tried Tungsten Polymer yet though.

The price on that could have went down by now (I hope), but thats what was paid for it.
