It took all year to have a good hunt but if finally happened on Saturday. We went out on Saturday morning and set up the spread and then sat back and drank coffee, while waiting for the geese to come. Oh Boy, when they started they didn't stop. We were hunting a winter wheat field, with about 60 decoys is all. Kansas had a snow storm that covered up most of the fields around here except for the one we were on. There was a little wheat sticking up above the snow, perfect! Anyways, when the geese started to fly they just kept on coming. We had literally thousands of them trying to come into the field. We couldn't even hear ourselves calling to them they made so much noise with their honking and the wind from their wings. I have been hunting geese hard now for about 5 years and have never expirenced anything so awesome. I am still excited! It is too bad the season has closed here for the year. We limited out in less then 45 minutes. I guess that is what makes us keep going back for more. :cool:
