i am a believer that if you throw out some quacks during the slow part of the day, or when things arent up to par, that you can bring in some ducks. My buddy likes to call only when he sees the birds, i like to quack whenever i feel like it. Sometimes this interupts his naps, but i like to do it. It always seemst that a few birds fly in also. We argue about this all the time. he doesnt believe it does anything but make noise (i'm not that great of a caller lol) but i think they come in to it. It cant all be coincidence.

So, does blind calling convince some ducks on the other side of the reed bed to come over and check things out, or is this all coincidence?

Whatever works. ;)

My buddy likes to do that as well. Sometimes it drives me batty, but it's good to let them know from time to time that there's some ducks out there lonely for attention.

I think it works best at dawn, especially in timber. Call a little before legal time andlisten. You may just hear some feed chatter and have some come by shortly.

TELL YAH WHAT. IF YOU KNOW THERES DUCKS THEN YOU CALL. OTHERWISE IF YOU BLOW ALL DAY YOUR GUTS WILL HURT AND YOU WILL BE FIELD DRESSIN YOUR CALL. MY PARTNER SAYS CALL WHENEVER YOU SEE DUCKS FLYIN, AND I SAY CALL WHEN YOU SEE DUCKS.(EMPHASIZING THE PERIOD), THE BEST THING TO DO IS WHEN DUCKS ARE SWIMMIN NEAR DONT SHOOT TO SCARE THEM UP (YOU MIGHT HIT SOMETHIN) GET YOUR BUDDY AND YOU BOTH START FEEDIN LIKE CRAZY. GOT A MOJO OR ROBO? IF SO USE IT! START THAT PUPPY UP AND MAKE AS MUCH COMOTION AS YOU CAN. GET A FRENZY GOIN ON.

LITTLE SAYIN:

FEEDING CHATTER,
AND SINGLE QUACKS,
WILL MAKE SITTIN DUCKS,
FLY AND ATTACK.
(JUST MADE THAT UP, PRETTY CATCHY HUH?)
-------------------------

DUCKS ARE SOCIAL AND THEY WANT TO BE PART OF THE FUSS. MAKE SINGLE QUACKS REAL SOFT AND TONS OF FEEDIN.

GOOD LUCK AND DONT SHOOT 'EM SITTIN.
