How was your season?

I just hunted Old Hickory Lake here in TN. Opening week-end was great. Birds were flying good and most everybody in the blind limited out. After that it went down hill. The weather was too bad on several days to take a small boat on the lake so we didn't go. When we finally did make it back out, our blind had collapsed from the weight of the ice and snow. So much for duck hunting in middle TN.

I hunt the Minnesota side of the MN/ND border. Last year was good for ducks (although I was hunting deer the last two weeks of duck season when the best flights were coming through). It was a very good year for Canadas, mostly local giants but a few mid-size geese from Manitoba way, too.

I went out and bought muzzleloaders for my boys and I for deer hunting next year so that we can deer hunt later in the season so as not to miss the diver and northern mallard flights.

We had a really good season in Kentucky. We killed a number of different species and shot birds consistently all year. I see you hunt on Old Hickory. Do you know Chester?

To my knowlege, I haven't met Chester but you talk to a bunch of people at the duckblind drawings so I guess it is possible I have met him.
