Early goose season here in Minnesota opens on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. The "real" duck and goose season starts the last Saturday in Sept.
I've gotten the decoys out and done some cleaning. Going to try a tip I heard about somewhere to use Armor-all to clean up the plastic decoys and maybe make them a little less brittle and apt to crack.
Received my first batch of eBay decoys (a dozen divers, mixed goldeneyes and bluebills) yesterday and they're sitting in my office. I've also begun playing with the cork dekes that I've bought off and on at eBay since last season, making sure they're weighted correctly so they ride even.
Ordered a removeable butt pad for my Browning BSS so that it's the right length for early season shooting, before I've got the clothes on that seem to go along with November hunting in Minnesota. I lost last year's pad while chasing down a winged Canada with my canoe last year.
