There is a new dove species out in these parts. I am not sure of the exact name. It maybe called the Eruasian Collared Dove. Don't hold me too that. They are exotics that got out somehow or another. They may have been released at weddings. They are larger and lighter in color than morning doves. They have a collar around their neck, and squared off tails. I have been seeing quite a few around the state of Louisiana. Most have been inside the city limits of Baton Rouge and Shreveport. Best thing is there is no bag limit on them since they are exotics. Has anybody seen any of these birds? I would imagine they would be good to eat. Maybe I will get a chance to take a few this year.
