I just bought a Beretta 390 at Wal-Mart for $500.00. That is the cheapest I have ever seen that shotgun. I saw a bumper sticker the other day, and I died laughing. It read, and I quote..."Guns kill people like spoons make Rosie O'Donnel fat". Hopefully Wally World will hang in there and not give into the pressures of anti gunners. I am going to get up on a soap box here for a sec...

It seems to me that society today always has to have an excuse for its short comings. School shootings increase, so logically it must be the firearms and the industry that builds them at fault. The media or antis never consider the MILLIONS of firearms used correctly each year. They would rather use a scape goat instead of pointing the finger at society and family groups. That just isn't politically correct. I think someone needs to look at the home situations these children come from. I am will to bet it stinks, and they have little to no supervision (much less love). I wish society would stop making excuses for such problems and try to fix things head on. However, we might offend someone that way, heaven forbid. Rosie O'Donnel is the biggest hypocryte I have ever seen. The second she gets a threat on her child, she goes out and hires an armed body guard. Is she for guns or against guns. Which side of the fence are you going to stand on Miss O'Donnel? I think I grew up to be the person I am because my mom and dad took time with me to show me right and wrong. I learned what wrong was REAL quick!!! Momma doesn't have such good aim with that belt! Dad took the time to show me how to hunt, fish, shoot, and to respect those things and others people. I sure would like to know the family situations of the people that end up misusing a firearm. I am willing to bet that 99 out of 100 come from poor family situations.

Ok, I am done. Too bad for K-Mart, they just lost a great deal of money from sportsman.

I look for K-mart to get out of hunting gear altogether. I don't know how many of you can remember when Target and Sears sold Hunting gear. They cater to a different crowd now.

If hunters and all sportsman continue to support these kinds of actions by continuing to shop at K-Mart our rights will continue to be taken away. Come on NRA, where are you when we need you! We need to tell K-Mart to "Stick It," by not making any purchases from them unless they reverse this stupid decision. (See press release below).

Kmart to Phase Out Ammunition Sale
Kmart to Phase Out Sale of Handgun Ammunition Over the Next 90 Days
By BREE FOWLER
Associated Press Writer
DETROIT (AP) -- At Kmart stores across the country, shoppers cruising the aisles for diapers, garden hoses and microwave popcorn can also find ammunition for everything from pellet guns to handguns.

But some of those shelves soon will be empty as Kmart phases out the sale of handgun ammunition over the next three months.

Company officials made the announcement Thursday following meetings that included company executives, a prominent gun-control advocate and victims of the 1999 Columbine High School shooting.

Kmart stores have not carried handguns since the 1970s, but still sell hunting rifles and other long guns. For some time, the Troy, Mich.-based company has been under pressure from gun-control advocates to stop selling firearms.

In November 1999, talk show host Rosie O'Donnell resigned as the company's celebrity spokeswoman because of her strong support of gun control.

And in December 1999 the company withdrew an application for a license to sell rifles and shotguns at a new store in New York after protests by an anti-gun group.

Company spokeswoman Julie Fracker said the sale of firearms and ammunition had been under review as part of a merchandising strategy by the company's new executive team for some time.

``Obviously we consider ourselves a socially conscious business, but this was a business decision made in the best interests of the company,'' she said.

Three Columbine survivors and filmmaker Michael Moore, who is best known for a 1989 documentary that assailed General Motors Corp.'s actions in closing a plant in his hometown of Flint, met with Kmart executives in Troy for four hours Wednesday. They requested that the ammunition be removed from shelves.

Moore said he is happy with Kmart's decision.

``I'm totally, totally stunned by the response from Kmart today,'' he said.

Fracker said the phasing out of ammunition began Thursday. The end of handgun ammunition sales at the chain's more than 2,000 stores will depend on when the stores' current stock runs out.

Take a look at the reference from BusinessWeek online about "Chuck." I don't think he really considered his BUSINESS PHILOSOPHY when Kmart made their decision to spot selling handgun ammo. Be sure that we remind Chuck about his "BUSINESS PHILOSOPHY" and do it often untill we get his attention!!

Think Kmart's gonna band doctors from their stores?

Doctors and Gun Owners

Number of physicians in the US = 700,000
Accidental deaths caused by physicians per year =
120,000
Accidental deaths per physician = 0.171

(Source: US Dept. of Health & Human Services)

Number of gun owners in the US = 80,000,000
Number of accidental gun deaths per year (all age
groups) = 1500
Accidental deaths per gun owner = 0.0000188
(Source: US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms)

Therefore, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more
dangerous than gun owners.
